About the role
All Care Nursing (ACN) is currently partnering with an aged care provider to recruit an experienced Facility Manager for their well-established 79 bed home located in the Macedon Ranges.
The Facility Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across clinical services, facility operations, and support functions within the facility. This position integrates governance, compliance, people management, and service excellence to ensure a safe, person-centred environment for residents and staff. The role drives continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of empowerment, compassion, and accountability in line with the homes mission and values. This role report directly to the Governance and Risk Manager.
Key responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of the aged care facility, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with all regulatory requirements
Oversee staffing functions including recruitment, scheduling, training, performance management and development of nursing and care staff
Ensure the facility maintains high standards of care, safety and hygiene in line with Strengthened aged care quality standards and legislative requirements
Manage the facility budget, control costs and ensure financial sustainability whilst maintaining quality of care
Implement policies and procedures that promote best practice in aged care management
Foster positive relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals to ensure satisfaction and continuity of care
Lead and supervise the leadership team and staff, providing mentorship, coaching and support
Manage resident complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on facility performance, incidents and compliance matters
Liaise with external agencies, health professionals and regulatory bodies as required
Implement and support quality improvement initiatives and drive continuous enhancement of services
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in nursing, healthcare management or a related field (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years' experience in aged care nursing and management, with demonstrated experience managing residential aged care facilities
Current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent professional credentials. Applications are welcome from both clinical and non-clinical professionals. Exceptional candidates with relevant aged care experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of aged care compliance, quality standards and legislative requirements including the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
Proven financial management skills and experience managing budgets and resources in a healthcare setting
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and best practice initiatives
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, staff and external stakeholders
Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) management
Understanding of person-centred care principles and commitment to resident dignity and wellbeing
