Intense Support Care is a registered NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports that empower participants to live independently and achieve their goals. We are currently expanding our team and are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers who are passionate about supporting participants with mental health conditions, psychosocial disabilities, autism, and complex behaviours.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and community settings. You will play a key role in promoting independence, social inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life while delivering supports in accordance with individual care plans and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
Provide high-quality personal care and daily living support.
Support participants with community access, appointments, social activities, and skill development.
Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and positive behaviour support strategies.
Support participants experiencing mental health challenges and complex behaviours.
Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting.
Promote participant choice, dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and the broader care team.
Adhere to NDIS Practice Standards, policies, and procedures.
English as a first language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience supporting participants with mental health conditions and complex behaviours.
Certificate IV in Disability Support (or equivalent qualification).
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current Queensland Blue Card.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
Strong understanding of participant-centred and trauma-informed support practices.
Certificate IV in Mental Health.
Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviours.
Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
Knowledge of restrictive practices and positive behaviour support frameworks.
Experience with community participation and capacity-building supports.
