About Us
Waratah Respite Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides flexible respite services in Coffs Harbour and the surrounding districts since 1987. We offer centre based social support and respite care in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga as well as flexible low care overnight respite in our Maureen Guthrie Cottage for older people, those living with dementia and their carers.

About the Role
We are currently seeking a Casual Personal Care Worker, with the possibility of future Part-Time positions. Hours of employment vary depending on the roster and applicants must be available to work morning, afternoon, active night shifts, and day program activities.
As a Personal Care Worker (PCW) at Waratah Respite Services (WRS), you will work as part of an integrated team of carers under the direction of the Clinical Care Manager/RN. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality services that motivate, re-able, and enhance the independence, wellbeing, and quality of life of our clients.
This role is diverse and includes supporting clients during our day program activities. We are looking for someone who is fun, bubbly, energetic, and outgoing, with a genuine passion for building positive relationships and creating meaningful, engaging experiences for clients. The ability to encourage participation, bring enthusiasm to activities, and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment is essential.
The PCW will be responsible for attending to the personal care, social support, and recreational needs of clients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and individual care and support plans. This includes supporting clients both within the low care respite environment and during community-based and centre-based day program activities.
Essential Criteria
Certificate III in Individual Support or other equivalent qualification
Current First Aid Certificate or the capacity to obtain the required qualification within four (4) weeks of the commencement of duty
Has a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Has the physical capacity to provide personal care and the ability to assist clients
